NEWARK, DE — On Sunday, April 12, 2026, the World Mission Society Church of God hosted a blood drive in Newark, Delaware in honor of the New Covenant Passover. Members from Delaware and throughout Maryland gathered at the Blood Bank of Delmarva’s Christiana Donor Center. The event ran successfully from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Because of the partnership with the Blood Bank of Delmarva, this Church of God blood drive collected 66 units of blood. Consequently, this contribution provides enough blood to save up to 198 lives.

The World Mission Society Church of God maintains a long history of humanitarian service. For instance, volunteers have hosted more than 1,700 blood drives worldwide over several decades. These efforts stem from the Church’s religious understanding of the Passover. While many see this as a community act, members view this Church of God blood drive as a profound expression of love.
An Incredible Experience for the Community
The impact of the day resonated deeply with the staff on-site. Specifically, Alyssa, Director of the Blood Bank of Delmarva, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers.
“This was a huge impact,” she said. “We love you guys being here—we welcome a partnership.” For more information on our local efforts, you can view our community service gallery here.

This award honors the Church’s ongoing community service and its commitment to life-saving initiatives.
Furthermore, Councilwoman Cabrera spoke warmly of the organization’s impact. She expressed her eagerness to partner in the future, stating, “I am so amazed by the work you have done. Therefore, I want to work with you guys on different events in the community to have an impact beyond health.”
