When Israel Was Strong and When Israel Was Weak

The Bible teaches that the history of the Israelites in the Old Testament times is to teach us (Ro 15:4). There is a lesson from the history of Israel’s kings about when they were strong and when they were weak. The Israelites became weak after committing idolatry and evil acts that displeased God. In those times, they became subject to other kingdoms. The Israelites became strong when they repented and returned to doing God’s will. When they were strong, they even received tribute from other kingdoms. Ultimately, everything must come from God.

“If their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Today, God’s people who obey all the teachings of the New Covenant become strong in their faith.
