God the Father and God the Mother

Q: What is the relationship between God the Father and God the Mother?

A: Usually, when people refer to or pray to God, they call God “Father.” Many people reference the “Lord’s Prayer” or the “Our Father Prayer” saying that Jesus taught us to pray to “Our Father in heaven” (Mt 6:9). Where does God the Mother come into the picture? And what is the relationship between God the Father and God the Mother?

First, we must think about the definition of the word “father.” “Father” means a man with children. Then, the fact that God is called “Father” means that God has children. In the Bible, God calls us His children (2Co 6:18). However, a father alone cannot give birth to a child. If there are children, there must be a mother as well.

Without a mother, there are no children; without children, there is no father. Hence, the fact that we have “our Father in heaven” shows that we also have our Mother in heaven. In other words, the existence of God the Father proves the existence of God the Mother. This is why the Bible testifies about God the Mother.

“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”

Of course, God is one. Just like the Bible states that Adam and Eve are one body, it is so with God the Father and God the Mother. Their relationship is like that of a husband and wife. This is why God the Mother is referred to as the bride in Revelation.

“The Spirit and the birde say, 'Come!' And let the one who hears say, 'Come!' Let the one who is thirsy come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”

Therefore, if we want to receive the water life (eternal life), we must come to both God the Father and God the Mother.

A: Jesus’ words “It is finished” meant the completion of His mission at His first coming, not the abolishment of God’s laws.
